I can't believe it's been 9 months since Kevins been home. Time flies by. Things are going wonderfully - probation moved him to every 3 months instead of every month - yeah. He was all signed up for school again this semester (went sumer and Fall also) - then all of a sudden last month a lady from our church called and said that a client of hers would like to talk to him about a job. He received the job the next day - doing landscaping! For all those that live in VA - imagine landscaping in the winter! He got mostly thermals and flannles and wool socks for Christmas!!
3 yrs ago, 2 months after Kevin was indicted (he was out on bail until sentencing 9 mths later), I was NOT in the Christmas mood - 1st time I didn't a tree). Thought he could be gone 20 yrs. He said to me" Please, let's get a tree - could be my last Christmas for a long time". Of course I made the best holiday I could for him. Now, even if we had nothing for Christmas, it's the best in our 19 yrs together. Never thought just having the one person you love so much could fill your heart so much.
So, his probation is A+, he's finally got a full time job (learning to become a landscaper) and still teaching 2 Bible Studies a week at church. I've never seen him so exhausted! He's up at 5:15 (he always spends an hr with God, praying and devotions), leaves at 7:30 - doesn't get home till 6-7. Last month it was getting much to spend so much time with him - but now I miss him so much. I'm pathetic - he walks in and I almost cry - I'm so grateful he came bacl! Even after 9 mths!
After the holidays when I have more time, I will talk about the prison ministry we started 9 months ago at church and how well it's going (I'll try to get it out next week on the 'Spiritual Board".
Thanks to the people on this board, I did make it - God did not let me down (like He ever would!). I was angry with Him a lot - but He's a big guy and can take it!!
Rememeber, there are happy endings to all of this "crap". Merry Christmas to all of you! I miss you all and will try to get on more to support more that need it.
Merry Christmas!!!! And for those who's honeys are coming home in 2005 -CONGRATS!!!!!
