All visitations at both SMUI and SMUII are behind glass for two hours.

well, Eyman is the name of the complex, and there are many units in Eyman. if you do mean SMU, then yes, both smu 1 and 2 are both non contact because they're max. security. if you need more info I'd be glad to help. :)

I too have questions about visiting someone at EYMAN. I was recently approved to visit my friend out at EYMAN, SMU-1 and let me tell you, they sent me 2 pages of rules and regulations!! Even though the visit is behind glass, the rules are pretty strict and the dress code is as well. (No blue jeans, no blue chambray shirts, no orange, no tan or brown, and the blouse or shirt you wear must be high enough to cover your collarbone on both sides) It also says I have to go through a metal detector, so I am now seriously wondering if my underwire bra will set it off!! I'm a little nervous about it all now. Any suggestions from those who have "been there, done that" would be greatly appreciated. :)

Underwire bras are NOT allowed - if you wear one you may not get in. I have visited at SMUII and I imagine it is pretty much the same as SMUI. The dress code is strict, but it is that way at all the facilities, not just Eyman. What I did find at SMUII is that the COs there were very, very nice. Since the visits are scheduled, make sure you show up on time or they may not let you in. They wait until most of the people scheduled are together and then they walk you over as a group to visitation. The visiting area is very clean and very nice. They have vending machines for you to buy food and drinks, although I never did because I felt guilty that I could have things and he could not. There are clean restrooms. The glass area is semi-private, but the annoying part is that you don't talk through a phone you have to talk through this "vent" that surrounds the window and it is hard to hear. So pretty much the whole two hours you are screaming into the vent......If you dress conservatively you should be fine - but I would recommend that you always bring a change of clothes in case they do not approve of something. Keep the jewelry to a minimum, one ring, earrings (conservative), one regligious necklace is allowed, and one watch. But like I said, this was SMUII but I think since both SMUI and II are newer units, and the same level, they are pretty much the same. Hope this helps. But NO under-wire!! LOL!

One final question: I am scheduled to visit my friend at SMU-1 this Friday. Can I wear a belt or is this a no-no too?

Yes you may ware a belt but you have to take it off before you walk threw the metal detector or it will set it off. Sometimes your shoes set it off also.
