About a week before THANKSGIVING, I filled out a Visitation application form to be placed on my friend's visitation list down in Florence. I have yet to receive a response from ADOC as to whether or not I can visit him. Anyone know just how long the approval process takes? Does it usually this long? I don't have any arrests or convictions that might stand in the way, so I just wondered if this was the "norm"? Thanks in advance for any replies. :)

my approval took 4 weeks by the ADOC... then it took them 2 weeks to add me to his phone list..remember they are short staffed and busy with the holidays so taht can add to the time.. ask your friend to ask his co 3 as that is what my man did.. he nagged them til they added me..
I had no violations etc either.. good luck and that is great

They have up to 30 days to approve the visitation application.
You can also call the prison yourself and check on it, since they will not notify you, unless you are denied. So you might be already on his visitation list.

You have to call the prison unit where your inmate is housed at and ask to speak to Visitation.

My application took only a week to approve but another 9 days thereafter to get on his phone list as the original form to add me was misplaced. I was on the phone to visitation almost daily.
