I've tiptoed around "In Memoriam" since joining the site back in December. Guess I didn't want to face the finality involved. Anyway, now that I'm writing four men on DR, I found myself drawn here. A post re from Deborah Jones really spoke to me. We must keep our hearts open, even if it hurst.

That said, let me get to the point. Has the idea of sending sympathy cards to family members ever been considered? Or would that be considered intrusive? Thoughts on this would be very appreciated. Thanks and take care.

Of course, I meant to say Deborah Johnson, not Jones.

Hey Linda,
Sorry that it has taken me so long to see this and reply. You were correct in your first post. It is Deborah Jones. She is the aunt of Anthony Keith Johnson.
We have thought and talked at different times about sympathy cards. Personally myself I think that it is a fabulous idea. It will call for person who is in cntact with inmate to post an address to know who to send them too, but I posted Keith's parents address on here in the shout box when state of AL killed him.
I admire you writing to four DR inmates. I am writing to two and it is all I can do to keep up. Well actually there is another one I do write occasionally. These two are very special people to me. One very near execution himself.
Keith's execution affected me bad. It was terribly hard to get through. I had met him while visiting my special friend Danny. Keith was a very good christian man and the kind that you saw it in his face. He treated me and my daughter like we were his family. Glad you are on board PTO and hope to hear from you soon.
