Can anyone tell abiut Draper, and some of the rules for parents? And anything else I need to know. A littled confussed, don't know much about the alabama prison system.

Hey T...and welcome to PTO. I look forward to getting to know you. I personal have not been involved with Draper but i'm sure most of the same rules with the other places. What is it you would like to know?

I would like to know everything. My son is young, but I think he can take care of himself to a certain extent. Just what kind of facility it is. Does it have a bad rep, or you know us as parents we are confussed and really don't know. Just anything will help us. He was at Kilby, and then transfered to Draper 3 days ago. Haven't heard from since he's been there. Anything to help ease our minds. Just wish he could call.:)

The darn prison are FULL of young men these days. It will take a few days to get his phone list approved. its like that everywhere. I havent heard that Draper was any worse or better than any of the others. I know there are members here that have been involved with Draper and should be along soon to help you along.

Go ahead and shoot him out a letter, Ususal it take a couple of weeks for their money (on the books) to catch up with them, so if you send him funds it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and send that too.

Thank You for responding. Your information helped. Made some calls to the prison, and found out his case worker is from our home town. Which made us feel better, cause he seemed to take a different approach only after he found out where my son and us as parents were from. But anyways thanks very much. Have a nice day.:)

no, Kennys is at Bibb, he was a draper years ago, he's in his 17th year...

Don't be to trusting of his case worker, after all they all work for the state.

I don't really know alot about Draper...but, I just wanted to stop by and say WELCOME TO PTO!!! :D

My man was at Draper years ago and he said it wasn't all that bad...he is in elmore now which is right down the road from draper.

I just found my son that i had gave up for adoption 22 years ago and he is in draper. I've talked on the phone with him. I've talked to some of the people there and they have been real nice and they are good about answering my questions. I've never had any thing to do with this kind of thing so it's all new.
