I could give you tons of instances where the NH DOC has helped me out...in fact, there are more positives than negatives. Time after time many of the CO's have helped us out. One time when Kenny was in we were not allowed visits...we were not married and he had been lugged on a dirty urine. In NH this means no visits with anyone outside of family for 1 year. One of the sgts, who has since lost his stripes, always approved special visits for us...so I saw him every week. This same CO still, when I visit, comes and sits down and chats with me till Kenny gets there. They have sent messages to Kenny, allowed him to call me on my cell phone when my mom was in the ER, allowed him to call his son when he was in ADC, etc. They have even gone so far as to entertain my son for a bit so Kenny and I can visit. Most everyone in the NH DOC is great. Hardly ever have they been unreasonable. I get frustrated at times, but realize that often their hands are tied. On the whole, I have to commend them for doing all they can to make these difficult times so much easier. Oh yes, and of course I also have to add in Kenny's PO. He's a wonderful gentleman who has done so much for us. He has always been more than fair, sometimes taking a lot of heat for what he has done for us. While there are always a few bad apples out there, keep in mind that on the whole, they're not all asses.
