Ask your attorney. Often when a motion is filed by one side, the other side has X number of days to respond. Then, judge has X number of days to make his decision - unless he wants to stall and makes you wait even longer.

I have been told that it takes approx 90 days for the decision

It really depends on what level of the system your appeal is at. Some of the levels have no time frame for the decision to be made, BUT have time frames for the person to file their brief etc... It seems the higher the level your at the longer it takes--years....
