JAGCLT here, obviously not in prison 'cause I'm typing this email.
I came home Friday morning (12/10) after 4 months of hell, plus a few
good memories and two broken bones.
Needless to say, I will not be going back ever.
I am, however, thrilled to be celebrating Christmas two weeks before Christmas Eve.
My family and my pets are happy to have me home. I have a new appreciation for life (especially since I spent 92 days in SHU under protective custody). A cup of Starbucks coffee Friday night might have well have been a cup of gold.
Glad to be back in this family as well. My first piece of mail inside was a Paris postcard from Phil in Paris - thank you so much for doing that. I'm probably safe in saying that I was the first inmate in the history of FCI Manchester (Kentucky) Camp/Med. Security Prison to have a PARIS postcard on their wall.
So Celebrate Me Home, Already!!! :)
Love and Peace to all my friends on this federal forum. Your prayers were felt.
Jeff

Welcome home, Jeff. Ninety-two days in the SHU and two broken bones... what a nightmare!
I expect you to start some more threads that feature your very unique (and entertaining) sense of humor.
I repeated my protest, with the same response from the military police, so I'll be headed back to court next month.

Yes, Jeff, I agree with JJT - start a new thread. We so enjoyed the other one.
Glad that you are o.k. We did miss you around here. Before you left, did you see my response to you about the "Friends Beyond the Wall" pictures that are flashed on PTO (on the self-surrender thread)?
Well, get yourself caught up! Happy holidays!

JAGCLT 12-18-2004, 11:04 PM  I have not written in a week for a really serious reason (which I need everyone's opinion on, please:
One point of my probation (as is everyone's released from federal prison, I assume) is:
* STANDARD CONDITIONS OF SUPERVISION
" The Defendant shall not associate with persons engaged in criminal activity (obviously not an issue here) and shall not associate with any person convicted of a felony unless granted permission to do so by the probation officer "
Please help me understand this: could (or has) forum participation ever been construed as 'association with a felon'? Can I specifically ask my parole guy if he is ok with me participating on Prison Talk?
I, obviously, am hyper-diligent about sticking to the letter of every single law (including those in the 'universe', like karma). I will not go back to prison. I will correct my behavior, lifestyle, and attitude to assure that I will never experience what I experienced. Who cares if it was 'just four months' - it was 92 days in the hole, treated just like everyone else there. I was the only person anyone could remember who had ever actually 'volunteered' for protection at that institution without putting up a fight or an argument asto why they didn't want to go there).
PLEASE help me understand and deal with this. I love you guys with all my heart, but I also love myself a little more ~ I won't go back there, guys. I won't. Sure, I can, meaning I'm strong now emotionally, etc. I simply refuse to ever do anything to put me in that environment, although I have compassion and nothing but love for many people in that environment.
I hope and pray that this is not the last note from me. If you do not hear from me until December 10, 2005, you will know why. Advice please!
Jan7El 12-19-2004, 01:02 AM Wow! Good question, I never thought of that.
pitprincess 12-19-2004, 01:32 AM Welcome Home!!!!
I know you and your loved ones are proud to be together over the Holidays :):)
pitprincess 12-19-2004, 01:37 AM I would not know but that is a very good question, all though one don't really know who is who on the internet. I don't know if that would keep you from being able to post on line to an open forum or not.
Bless your heart... I would get with them as quick as you can and find out. Make sure to get it in writing :):)
God Bless you and your family :):)
Again welcome home :)
SCM32 12-19-2004, 05:08 AM Jagclt You are not the only one who volunteered theirselves into solitary. I did too. When I did 13 days in jail. My nerves were so shot I begged the C.O'S to let me go ,and they did. THEN, once I got their, I was able to read, sleep, think. I was also told by a few co's and inmates, that it is a very very rare person who WANTS to go, and remain in solitary. And If I would have had to do a year or two, as long as they let me out to take a shower, and use the phone, and be able to write, then I would be fine .And if I ever have to do time again, which I won't, it will be in solitary. I am a loner , that's the way I was born.Even my man , who is in prison, is home, has to give me alot of space when I need it. It was an issue for a while. Don't get me wrong, I can tolerate people, love people, and get along with them fine. But I am at my best when I am alone I guess you could say i'm happy with myself, and my own company :D .And I probly should be embarased to say this, but very simple things make me happy, like reading all day, n stuff like that. So solitary doesn't affect me one bit . :D Alone, and Loney, are two different things too. Also I am a VERY strong believer in karma, and the reasons why we are here to begin with. Anytime you wanna chat, gimme a holler Sonya
SCM32 12-19-2004, 05:17 AM Ok and since you feel very strongly about not going back, and I can't blame you. Here is what I would do.Just my opinion, and just trying to help. I would definatly read the posts. There is nothing wrong, and you are not associating if you just read the posts. And if you do talk,do it in an area like that of the PTO lounge, or such as that, some place that has nothing to do with prison. If that even makes since, being that this is a prison talk website. Or just simply P.M. someone whom you would like to talk to. BTW, I was only charged with a mistemeaner, so you can chat with me  :p . If you need proof of someones criminal history, you can either look for them in jail, and prisons online, or you can pay to find out. Like the county i'm in shows every time you were in jail, and what happened with the charges. Sonya
SCM32 12-19-2004, 05:41 AM And if you feel like I would in a situation like yours , not paranoid, but close to it, as bad as the feds are about stuff. :p :p :p . That they could snatch up your computer and see you've been anywhere near convicted felons, online that is. Then I would wait until 2005.When your paper ends. I know there will probly be people here who would be mad at me for aggreeing with you by telling you this. because I know you are very liked on this site and no one wants you to go away from here for a whole year .But all I gotta say is, there isn't anything that I would do to go back either. If they wanna take chances, that is them. Someone would think though, that as many paople as they( our wonderfull feds ) put away every day, they wouldn't have time for such penny annie crap . But I don't feel that it would ever come to that. More than likely, NEVER WILL .But you never know about where they're lurkin. :) :) I just can't blame you for wanting to follow all the rules, and get it over with . I believe it is FedCure who is trying to get the " association rule "done away with. If it is not FedCure, it is one of the reform groups. And I really hope they hurry up, because just say, what if someone gets out of federal prison, and want's to go home to their husband or wife, who may be a convicted felon, it just don't make since. Just like about hardly anything does with our ( state of the art system ) :haha: :haha: :haha: Sonya

I can't give you the answer...however others may come along and share their own experiences. PO's vary...so it's different.
However...if you do ask your PO about PTO, I would suggest you let them know we are a support group and want nothing more to see that you succeed in a successfull life now that your time has been served! We are not here to bring all felons together to plan some huge plot, lol! Some of the Rules of PTO are as follows:
• Illegal Activities:
Threads/replies encouraging illegal/unethical action (like “The best way to kill the neighbor’s dog”), or more importantly, anything relating to compromising the security of prisons and institutions (ETC) will not be allowed. Posts such as these will be deleted and may lead to you losing your posting privileges.
• Drugs:
Conversations relating to manufacturing and “hyping” (promoting or sensationalizing) of drugs are not welcome in PTO. Conversations relating to the Drug War, addiction and other issues (prisoner & family) related are welcome in their appropriate forums.
But your doing the best thing...and making sure you are on the right track to look after yourself! If we see you here....great! If not, well pm one of us and let us know how things are! I'm no felon, so it's safe! :p

You can talk to Sonya and you can talk to me without worrying about your probation. I was in Danbury for 90 days for a trespass charge. It's a misdemeanor. This new charge against me is... well... a misdemeanor.
alice
pitprincess 12-20-2004, 06:53 AM I have never had nothing more then a ticket for speeding.. You can talk to me as well :)
I am new here but seem to love these forums and everyone on here. :) This is a great place for support. :):)
lovenomore 12-20-2004, 07:50 AM Welcome Home JEFF!!!!
I have no real advice for you but I dont think someone could ban you from a support group. That is what we are considered right? If someone was on probation (like yours) but had to go to AA meetings wouldn't that be around the same scenero here? I'm sure there is one felon in AA meetings -I can say that because my ex was made to go there and he was!- (I mean no offense)
If they do decide to ban you from PTO find someone who you are FOR SURE is not a felon and talk to them! I have never even had a speeding ticket but I am sure there are others you know better!
Good luck!! And WELCOME HOME!!!
