Does Anybody Know If They Are On Lockdown?

No...not too often! In fact, during the entire time PIMA was there they were only locked down three times (that I recall). And in fact, on two separate occassions, visiting was still permitted over the weekends (no phones though).

My husband is also at Chuckawalla. They do not go on lockdown very often. Thank God. They may be on lockdown for a day or two---but it has never been longer than that. It may be because they are in a dorm type of setting and it may be difficult to enforce a true lockdown.

If your man hasn't called--give it a couple of days. The phones do not work too good out there in Blythe, and they are always breaking down. It might just be a phone malfunction instead of a lockdown.

My husband said that his time at Chuckawalla has been his easiest in the 10 years he's been down. A level 2 prison is much more forgiving than a Level 3 or 4 and lockdowns are less common. Instead of locking down an entire race like whites, blacks, etc.---they go after the individuals involved in the altercation. Stay strong---he'll call.
