Good day, everyone. Here's the link to the latest from The US Supreme Court. There are TWO sentencing "issues". If you're following the Blakely or Fanfan/Booker sentencing issues - this is a must read.

Help. All I see is a list of cases - none of which are blakely, fanfan or booker.

This is like an agenda.

Am I doing something wrong?

ok, i wasn't clear on the introduction. the link is to the latest decisions by the supreme court. those of us that are following the supreme court are eagerly anticipating the booker/fanfan decisions which the experts have said are coming soon. sentencing.typepad.com is very heavily involved in putting out any information related to sentencing rules/changes/decisions. so, the link is to 4 decisions just issued, with 2 related to sentencing. sorry for the confusion!

yes, tammy just go to a search (google.com) for the name of the decisions, or follow the links on sentencing.typepad.com
i think findlaw has them and pretty sure the us court gov site would have them.
best of luck!

Is there anything on these cases going on in Colorado? If there is who can I contact about help? I'm new at prison talk. com, just trying to help my son in any way I can, he has filed a motion and now needs some outside legal help, can you direct me in any way?

thank you, crying heart. the best suggestion is to start in your own community. see what resources are available - any of the prisonsupport groups (national) would have a good list of legal sources, both appellate (after sentencing) and criminal defense (before sentencing). Your local law school at the local law university is another good source. You may be able to talk with one of the professors over there who could give you (free!) advice as to which way to go. the last resort is after sentencing, you can file on your own. it takes alot of research and plenty of understanding, but it also gets by better with the help of "jailhouse lawyers". i'm in the same situation you are, crying - son in prison now here in Florida. lots of good informational websites andn linnks are on this board. pick out a forum that is related to you and your son, and just scroll on through. this is a great group! welcome!
