View Full Version : Favorite ways of serving eggs?
What are your favorite egg recipes or favorite ways of serving them? Do you like them just poached, boiled or fried or maybe you prefer omelets or scrambled eggs and if so what do you add to them? Maybe you love quiche - what kind? Do you like Eggs Benedict or Florentine and have a favorite recipe you would like to share?
jessnkat 12-10-2004, 04:21 PM I love them scrambled with salsa mixed it and then topped with cheese - sometimes I add chopped up ham too.
I also like them in a breakfast casserole - I'll find the recipe this weekend and post it.
toi_ama 12-11-2004, 10:27 AM I love eggs fried over medium on toast with sour cream and butter on the toast. I know, I know----very fattening----but a real treat once in awhile.
I'm omelet challenged, too, so I used to just fry green pepper and onion a little bit in some butter, then put in some beaten eggs and cook like you do scrambled eggs till the eggs are done. Then sprinkle grated cheese over the top and let it melt. Great with some toast and hash browned potatoes. Then I learned to make a fairly good omelet, so now I can do that but I still like the other way better. I've since learned that my "skillet omelet" is probably really called a fritata.
flygirlaa2 12-11-2004, 10:43 AM I love eggs.
I like with scrambled with Chorizo and salsa wrapped in a flour tortilla.
I also like microwaved scrambled eggs with butter.
But the best way to have eggs is baked in a chocolate cake. LOl
kreepsgirl 12-11-2004, 05:24 PM I love scrambled eggs with a little bit of milk mixed in along with cheese, ham, potatoes, basically anything I can find in the fridge! They are called "Garbage Eggs" because you put basically anything in them!
Retired-18 12-11-2004, 05:32 PM I so should not respond but can i just say any way he wants?
mrsdragoness 12-11-2004, 05:56 PM Scrambled with salt, pepper and a dash of dill weed.
You mean besides rotten and tossed at the front door, as a prank, I am assuming.
I love eggs. I think my favorite is Eggs Benedict. I could eat that every Sunday morning for the rest of my life!!!!!!!

Eggs Benedict are so, so, so good- the only problem is the timing of everything- making the Hollandaise Sauce while the eggs are poaching etc.Hollandaise sauce isn't the easiest thing to make as it can curdle so easily-has anyone tried any of the packaged mixes?
I haven't tried the packaged mix yet, but some of my friends say its okay. I mean, if you go to Dennys or Sharis for eggs benedict, you are getting packaged hollandaise sauce, so can't be all bad!!

strongernow 12-13-2004, 02:32 PM I could eat fried eggs for breakfast, lunch and dinner!!!!
I love fried egg sandwiches :) I LOVE EM I LOVE EM I LOVE EM!
did i tell you i love em??? :)
babygirl350 12-13-2004, 02:37 PM I love eggs in any way, shape or form. I guess my favorite way of making them are omellettes, with any and everything in them. I love Eggs Benedict also, but I am sauce challenged, so I usually eat it that way when I go out.
I have had them at Denny's and didnt realize the sauce was from a mix. It tasted very good to me.
I will have to see if I can find the sauce that is packaged and try it. Here in the town I live in they probably have never even heard of it. May have to take a drive to a bigger city to find them.

Yes you did!!! :D :D :D .I love fried egg sandwiches too for lunch- and for some strange reason they always help when I have a migraine.
Phil- now i know what those small ramekins are used for - I was given some years ago and never used them as they were so small. Do these oeufs cocotte taste very different from poached eggs?
Phil in Paris 12-13-2004, 05:15 PM The eggs by themselves taste like poached eggs. But of course with the cream and the other things it's even yummier :D
Now you have a use for your ramequins. :)
