Hey philadel and bntonyb, my husband was at Groveland for alittle and they can get packages mailed to them and brought to them on the visit. What you should do is call them up and make sure they don't have holds on packages so your not sending them or bringing them for nothing.

I did the Groveland thing for 3 long years. The visits are every Saturday and Sunday and any and all holidays. There isn't any even and odd days. It's the usual 8:30 till 3:15 visiting hours. Here in Rochester there was a free bus coming from Albany and Syracuse that I used to take once a month and then the other 3 weeks I drove. Hope this helps.

I have a son in groveland. They are only allowed 35 lbs in food a month and only 2 cartons of cigs a month.Clothing can be sent any time. I usually order from access catalog or bust the move. Prices are reasonable. They ship right to inmate facility.
The c/o's aren't that bad but some carry chip on their shoulder and need an attitude adjustment, makes me mad sometimes the way they talk to me,but don't want to lose visiting privliges(sp) so i keep my cool.Am going there on sat.Feel free to email me if you have any ? i might be able to answer.

hi we have posted in the past to each other when your son was first in Elmira. I have not been on much since and have a hard time navigating the site. Just wanted to let you know that I have friends in Groveland that work at the prison. One is a guard and one is a nurse. Let me know if I can help. Please e-mail me at Email removed as per PTO policy

Any questions on Groveland Annex please PM me, I may be able to help. If not I have a friend who's son is at Groveland Main and I could ask her. I did the Groveland Annex thing for a year and I got married there in 2005. My husband has since been moved.
