When my husband was in prison, I became penpals with a friend of his. He was paroled shortly after my husband and called to tell me how great he was doing. I had a sneaking suspicion he was high when he called (hey, I'm an ex-junkie, I just know these things).

Anyway, I just checked and sure enough - he's in Staton.

I don't have a bed # or anything - will he still get the letter?

I know when I wrote my husband at Kilby, the first several letters had no bed numbers (I mailed one the day he left, so he'd get it shortly after he got there) and he always got them.

Is there anything else I need to know before writing to him?

I had a friend at staton a few years back and never put a bed number...he always wrote back, so i'm sure he'll get it!!

Monica, he should - the inmates I have had Con-Tact News sent to at Staton, I didn't have dorm/bed #s and they are getting it...

Frankly the only place I have had that problem with is Tutwiler... they'll send it back in a hurry w/o a dorm #! Everywhere else they pretty much seem reasonable enough to know you may not have that info if you haven't written before....

Thanks for the info!

I got him a letter ready to go out in the morning! Besides the fact that I could choke him, I'm glad I at least know where he wound up.
