Just wanted to let everyone know that I spoke to Shawna last night and she asked me to update all of you.
As you know, 2 weeks ago she and a friend drove 7 hours to see JD for 1 hour. When they got there the visit was denied because he was in the health care unit (hospital). They wouldn't tell her why, just that her visit was being denied. Since then she has been calling to find out, 1.What happened, 2.If he is ok, and 3.If she could visit him, explaining each time that she had to drive 7 hours. She was told nothing except that he was still in the hospital and could not receive visits. Then the other night she pressed the issue a little and explained that she would like to know something before she drove all the way there, she spoke to a somewhat helpful CO. Helpful in that he told her why JD was there (nothing medically serious-he's ok). But unhelpful in that he told her it will be a really long time before she would be able to visit again. The jerk knew it was his fiance and didn't take into consideration the emotional effect that statement would have on her. What else is knew.
Well, here the good news, that CO was a liar (Shock).
The very next day, thursday, she called again just to make sure she shouldn't hop in her car and GUESS WHAT? They release JD from the hospital and his visits are back on!
As I type this Shawna is visiting with family (she has a new nephew!) and she will be heading to see JD tonite.
Proves again that being persistant can't hurt, lol

Great. Consistent is an understatement. The Prison system could care less how the family or friends feel. I know this sounds really spitful but I wish some of these people would have to go through some of the things we do just so they would know how it feels. Know what I mean? I will never understand how people can purposely hurt someone like that. I feel strongly that when people purposely do that they will have to pay for day!!!!

Love muffin,
They won't last a day behind bars (the co's) But I like the idea of giving them a taste of their own medicine. I bet if it was a training reqirement that they had to spend 48 hours as a prisoner, they would have a lot more empathy!
