Hi everyone my man is out of Avenal in about 3 months. I want to pick him up. So I thought i would start planning now. I like to be prepared, plus I just want to know for sure how everything works. So Here's some questions: When you pick someone up where do you go? how do you know what time to get there? What do I need to tell Matt? and What should i ask him? If anyone has answers to any of these questions or anything else they think would help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Hello, My husband gets out in April from Avenal, I was at a family visit over this last weekend and we had talked about this very subject. He said I must be there by 7am sharp to sign him out to be picked up by you, then it takes about 1 to 2 hours for him to be released. He said I probably need to mail him dress out cloths? Hes going to check if he can just wear the sweats he has or if they have to wear something else? Hes not sure were he gets released from, what gate? When you visit, there is that gate to the outside? Hes going to check. Hope this info helps you, let me know later what exactly happens, it sounds like your husband gets out just before mine....good luck..

My friend was released from Avenal about 2 years ago. I had to be there by 6:30. i left my house at 3am. You go check in and tell them who you are picking up. They tell you to go back in your car and wait. Its about an hour wait. I just kept stearing at all the vans that kept passing by. Then finally one pulled up and there he was. If you get out of your car they wont let them out. I was standing infront of my car as where everyone else that was waiting. They yelled for us to get back in our cars and then they let them out. He got in and i got out of there ASAP. I hope this helps if you have anymore ??? just ask...
