Hello my partner is going up for classification next week,at the moment he is an E1 and saids they may make him an E2, if they do this "which we hope they dont" he could be transfered far away. Where he is at the moment takes me about 2 hours to get to and i go nearly every weekend (only 1 day over the w/end),if they transfer him i will have to travel anything from 3 1/2- 6 hours away now i wont be able to do this. Has anyone got any tips on how he can stay where he is,he has about 15months to get out (parole) and he saids he has settled where he is and really doesnt want to disturb anything at the moment as all is going well. I never had this problem, but I know of people that have. If they transfer him in an unreasonable distance that you cant get to, I believe you can write to the Department of Corrections with your concerns, and they can try and keep him closer. I am sure some other members here would have better advice than that as well for you, as I said, this is just something that I knew a few people had done.
