View Full Version : New little sister in Pennsylvania
Eli's sis 12-05-2004, 02:28 PM Hi! I'm 11 years old with a 24-year-old brother in the state prison. He's been gone a little over a year now, and I really miss him. I got to tour the inside of the prison four years ago before it opened, so I know what it looks like in there. The water fountains were all warm. My brother might be getting out on parole around Christmas time. I sure hope so! :p
Welcome to PTO Eli's sis! So glad you joined :) I look forward to hearing about your brother. I think it's great that he might be out around Christmas- you must be so excited!! Have you been able to visit him at all or do you just write?
Eli's sis 12-05-2004, 02:48 PM Welcome to PTO Eli's sis! So glad you joined :) I look forward to hearing about your brother. I think it's great that he might be out around Christmas- you must be so excited!! Have you been able to visit him at all or do you just write? I don't get to see him but he calls and writes and my mom writes to him too. He draws my baby sister and me pictures. I just drew him a picture last night, but my mom hasn't sent it yet. I haven't gotten to talk to him for a month, because he's been in the hole. That's a nasty place. :(
Yes it's a helpless feeling when we hear our sibling is in the hole - there is nothing we can do but wait. I like the idea of drawing pictures for each other - fun way to communicate.:) When he gets out will he be staying at your house?
Jan7El 12-05-2004, 03:06 PM Hi Eli's Sis,
Your brother is very lucky to have you to love and support him. Keep drawing those pictures. I'm sure he appreciates them very much and that they brighten up his day every time he gets one. I hope he makes it home for Christmas. My son will be home Jan 7th. I wish they would change it to before Christmas!
irisheyes66 12-05-2004, 03:31 PM Welcome to PTO....I'm glad you're supporting your brother, because it's very important!
Here's hoping for a Christmas reunion!

I like the idea of drawing pictures for each other - fun way to communicate.:) When he gets out will he be staying at your house? My brother is going to a halfway house about 2 hours from here. The parole officer in this county is real nasty, and my mom says there will be more jobs he can get by the halfway house, anyway. At least we will get to see him, and talk to him without that recording going off! :yay: We hope he will be allowed to stop at home to get his clothes and stuff and eat a meal with us. He misses my mom's cooking!
Slainte 12-05-2004, 08:55 PM Hi Eli's sis! Welcome to PTO!
I think it's great that you send your brother pictures and even better that you decided to join us here to support him.
I hope he is home before Christmas!
Best wishes!

bethbupp 12-06-2004, 06:05 AM Hi, I'm Mom to Eli and Eli's sis (and 3 other kids, too). I just want to thank all of you for making her feel welcome here. I just found this site about a week ago. The other day, my daughter was reading posts over my shoulder and said "Wow, I didn't know that there were other inmates who have people who care about them!" I said "Look, there are over 36,000 of them!" So we asked the moderator's permission for her to join. She needs to know that she is not the only one in the world who has a brother in prison, and misses him. I know that there are communities where almost every family has a member incarcerated, but around here, all the kids' parents WORK at the prison! She didn't know that there was anyone else like her! You guys are great!
