Just stopped in to let you all know that my daughter had earned an incentive package.back inAugust,,.you know underwear pen paper stamps and hygene products..it was to have been postmarked Nov 11, but due to my surgery I would not have been able to get it done by the 10th and the 11th was a postal holiday. I called and got permission to send it on the 12th in care of the Captain who monitors the Ladies on the Annex(this is minium security just a step up from work release). Well it is Dec 2nd and her box has been held hostage by her supervisor and I called Monday asking why! Here's the phone call I got today from the Captain:
Told himI sent it In Care Of Him, knowing that he would see that she got it. Said to Daughter her supervisor has had it in her office since at least the 17th of Nov, told several of the girls she was not going to beg them to come get their boxes. Now when they ask for them she wont give them to them. Spoke to the Captain this evening and he said he would take care of it first thing in the morning as this was deffinately not fair to either me..as he knew how hurt I was and still got it out and that as long as my daughter has nothing wrong on her papers she should have it and also that it was not sent directly to him! He also assure me that this supervisor would not retaliate against Shellee and if she did I was to call him immediately!
I told him daughter was on Bed Sick due to her female problem flair up and the Dr was very concerned as the infection has spread to her uterus. She has had Pelvic Imflammator Disease since about 98 and if it has not been treated right with certain antibiotics ( so hard to get while in prison)it progresses so bad that the only relief a woman can do is to have a complete hysterrectomy. She is afraid of having this done while in prison as she has heard so many horror stories and the Captain assured me that they use outside Drs for these type of things and he will definately see her tomorrow to see how she is! How kind is that? This man has been my knight in shinning armour each time I call. Which is not very often and he has learned to know that when I do call it is important and not some frivelous thing!
He also promised to call me back once he found out all the answers to the whole situation, hopefully by tomorrow evening..Monday at the latest.
So just letting you know that it is okay to call and ask questions concerning your loved one. Always be respectful and sencere and then thank the person who helps you even if they send you to another person. It makes a positive impression on these folks and they respect that we treat then with a certain amount of respect..after all they are human and they make mistakes too!
