Did you know that in North Carolina when you come up for parole the parole comission doesn't even meet the inmate. They only view information in the inmates file. Alot of the information in the inmates file can be bias. The inmate has no idea what is in his file because he is not allowed to view his file. The NCDOC claims this would be a security breech? Does anyone understand that????? So whatever is written in the inmate's file concerning his crime, and his actions while in prison are pretty much what they look at. The psychological evaluations are an important part of it too and guess what the psychologist in the NCDOC are barely considered psychologist. They hold the smallest degree possible and I have been told some of them have had their license revoked. This is supposeably why they work for the prison system because they can't get hired any where else. Also do not believe for a minute that the crime version in a inmates file is correct. I have seen my Fiancee's and it is way off. As a matter of fact on his last evaluation his psychologist sat him down and ask him why he killed his wife. My Faincee did not kill his wife. She did not even know who she was talking to when he came into her office. When he ask her what she was talking about she told him she was sorry she got him mixed up with another inmate. This makes me :pissed: :pissed:

INS does the same thing. When you go to court for your deportation hearing...even if you have a lawyer, he is not allowed in the court room with you. Also, they can deport because of "secret information". Even your lawyer is not allowed to see this "secret information". That is being fought now in courts as unconstitutional. How can you fight against "secret evidence" that you are not allowed to see?

RENEE-THIS IS VERY DISTURBING- AND SEEMS TO ME TO BE A BOTH A VIOLATION OF RIGHTS AS WELL AS ILLEGAL. IF A PSYCHOLOGIST WITH A REVOKED LICENSE DOES AN EVALUATION OF AN INMATE, I WOULD THINK THIS COULD BE LEGALLY CHALLENGED AS INADMISSABLE. IS ANYONE CHALLENGING THESE PRACTICES?

Sherri,

You would think. Who is going to challenge it? I have found the NCDOC does whatever they want and covers up their illegal actions. This is one reason I can't see my Fiancee, because I wrote a letter to a staff psychologist stating the injustice that is occuring in our prison system. Boy it didn't take long for them to punish me for that!!!!!!!!!!!! They want the family and friends of inmates to know that if you cause problems for the DOC they will either take it out on the inmate or their family. Sometimes both. Just ask Budwoman how many times they have punished her son when she tries to get him help. This is why someone needs to do a show on this subject to get the public's attention. "like the Montel Show"
