My man's annual is coming up and I want him to try and get moved to Tehachapi. I was wondering where is the prison at? He said that it is up in the mountains ((he has been there before)) and I might need chains when it snows. Is this true? Just out of curosity ((sp)) how is visiting there? What are the hours? What can you can and cannot wear?

I haven't been to the prison, just the town, if you can call it a town. It's very pretty mountain country. You might need chains once a year I guess, but I haven't had to use them yet. I have a friend who lives nearby, so I usually stay there when I visit Lancaster (which I think is near you).

It's only about an hour or so from Lancaster, all uphill!

Yes Qwerty, Tehachapi is 45 minutes away from me ((I'm in Palmdale)). That's why I want him to move there. I stopped there on my way to Corcoran and the town looked like it had a little more to do than Corcoran, but if my man happens to go there I will just drive home!

oh, that is a major accomplishment for the partner of soneone incarcerated, congradulations=}....i don't think i will ever get my long distance back....if he could just stay home a lil bit longer....=}
