Can anyone tell me what the potential sentence could be for a plea bargin on a neglient manslaughter charge? My friend was indicted for a manslaughter charge plus drug dealing, intent to distribute and dui. A lawyer that he has retained says for 15k he can get him off the drug charge and only have the manslaughter charge. what kind of jail time could he be looking at? He says that he has a license for medical pot and that is how he can get the drug charge dropped. Anyone ever hear of this.

was it attempted manslaughter or manslaughter. that makes a big difference my ex pleaded guilty to attempted and got 15 yrs served 7.5. if he was taken to triel he was looking at 25 to life for every attempt so he was looking at 100 years. hope this helps
