Hey lil, I'm sorry to hear this - it's awful. What would your boyfriend want you to do? Would/does he want you to call on his behalf? In the past has he wanted you to try to help out when stuff like this happens?

no,he never askes for anything, he even never tells me things like this, not usually anyway. But i have been begging for him to do so and he does little by little, although I can sence through the letters how down he is feeling.:( it breaks my heart!!!
Yeah maybe I should ask him if he wants me to call prison,we don't wanna make things worse huh!
Guess I was very upset about this, still am actually...i mean they are humanbeings!!! no matter what they still are worth some comfort right?

Your feelings and desire to help are completely normal. The only reason I suggested to maybe ask him is just through my personal experience dealing with friends in prison who go through tough times also, and some actively want me to call, write letters of complaint and really try to help, others don't want this and I feel we have to respect their way of doing time and dealing with things, as they are obvioulsy the ones who have to deal with it and any repercussions etc. I hope this makes sense. I know how painful it is to know how someone is suffering and you feel so helpless and angry and frustrated, it's just that we all know how prisons can be, and the mentality of many who work in them, and unfortunately retaliation is a big part of it. I would ask him what if anything he wants you to do and let him know that you are there for him if he needs you to call or whatever. Personally I always try to remember that they have so many decisions taken away from them, so many people telling them what to do and when to do it, so I want to always remember they are individuals with the right to ask for help or not. Pm me anytime you want to talk/vent!!

liltoomean, that was a good suggestion. My husband tells me things and I get worked up about the conditions, and he has to remind me he can take care of himself. Most of the time I don't know what I would do anyway. He says he tells me just so he can vent, and I understand that totally. He is a big boy now, and I am one of those people who try to take care of everyone, and so the story goes! lol Anyway, your posting was right on track.

That is crazy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sleeping on the floor !! *ugh* I imagine the floor can't be that much better...the water much eventually hit the floor too. Perhaps the whole unit is like that?

If he can't be moved...I hope the rain will stop soon !!! :(

If its happening to him it is happening to all of them. Last year I read a similar story about a guy at Polunsy who asked for his letter to be public. Honestly...we will never know how it is like in there,we can try to imagine but we will never no,not even come close!I believe there are a lot of things they will never tell us.
Liltoomean...your words are ever so true,he has to decide what to do about it,all I can do is offer my help,
thanx a million

Hi lill'magic
My guy is on Polunsky unit and he was saying that the windows in his cell are all leaking at the moment.
I dont know how you would go asking to have him moved, they just dont seem to care to much there at all. :( Perhaps he could put in a request to be moved to another cell, because its cold there right now, and him sleeping on the floor is just an awful thought, i am so sorry to hear that.
Let us know how it all goes. ((hugs))

Anytime I have called the prison (never this particular one) I am told "the inmate has to talk to their counselor" or "you have to find that information from the inmate" It makes me wonder why it is even possible to call the prisons somedays.
