Hi I have a friend in Avenal Prison, He said he needed stamps...
Can I send him a book of stamps, or do I have to get him prestamped envelopes?

I don't know about the rules in Calif., but if I were you, I would send him pre-stamped envelopes, because inmates trade stamps for other stuff. And if you only want the stamps used to write to YOU, then write your name on each stamp. Otherwise they might be stolen by other inmates, traded, or used to write to someone else other than you. My guy had a whole book of stamps I sent him stolen last month. Or at least that's what he said ;) Eddie's Angel :)

you can send stamps in a regular envelope, a book of stamps. I do it all the time.

I send a book a stamps in a regular envelope also and they get through.
