I am very confused on why these inmates at stanley are being escorted to and from the visiting area plus they are being searched when they get there and when they leave.My friends fiances says he hasnt had a shower since wednesday what is really going on there is this legal.I also understand they are in ther cells all the time for eating and everything they are not to leave there cell unless there is a visit.Anyone has any info let me know thanks alot.:angry:

i can tell you this...i understand that this is supposedly a gang related inncodent...seems someone was stabbed...dont know if it was a guard or an inmate..it happened just before thanksgiving and they have been locked down since. that is why there is so much security ..yes it is legal for them to lock them down this long....

From what my friend told me, Stanley is suppose to have the worst of the worst. What they are doing is legal. At boscobel they were in lock down for 23 hours a day, and the showers in their cells were only turned on certain days. All prisons search the inmates after the visits to make sure nothing was passed to them.

When it comes down to it though, it's still prison. They do get quite a few luxuries that some may argue - inmates shouldn't have.

I know the original complaint above was when the facility first opened, but a lot of facilities escort the inmates when they move around, they have every reason to search them before and after visits- because believe it or not, some visitors are foolish enough to smuggle stuff in...
And some facilities do limit their showers.....

Seems the facilities still aren't consistent.. they should all have the same rules and standards across the respective security levels... i.e. all maxs the same, all mediums the same.. etc..
They shouldn't allow outdoor visits at a few facilities, but not at others... and so forth and so on....
