I learned today that Thomas Bowling, a mentally retarded man who was scheduled for execution on November 30, 2004, has been suspended, at least for now.

He is on deathrow at KSP in Eddyville, Kentucky. It seems Mr. Bowling has another appeal they are looking at, so hopefully a stay will be granted.

This case is receiving alot of publicity due to the fact of his mental capacity impairment.

Best wishes goes out to Mr. Bowling and his family and to the victims family as well.

Thanks Ice Blue, I hope he gets a permanent one as well. No matter whether people are for or against the death penalty, in my opinion NOTHING justifies murdering a mentally handicapped person, who isnt even aware fully of just what execution means.

If this execution does in deed take place, there will be alot of noise coming from Kentucky over it and hopefully it will change sentencing for the mentally impaired.

That isnt to say they shouldn't be held responsible for their actions, if indeed they are guilty, just a different kind of punishment.

May God watch over Mr. Bowling and be with him as he goes through this very stressing time.
