My daughter went for her GED in illinois prison. She spent 45 days in class and because she missed 7 on her last test and could only miss 6 The teacher wont give her credit for the 45 days in school! She worked so hard to make and was really excited about getting out of prison 45 days early and taking her GED then moving on to college. Now all that has been shot down and she is back where she started when she entered prison. Her outlook on life is no better than when she went in. Shouldnt they get the time credit even if they didnt pass a science test? Who can I call?

Is your daughter able to retake the course? I mean, even if she doesn't get the time credit, she is closer to having her GED, which is a good thing. Gotta have the GED before you can take college classes.
Good Luck!

She is down to the final count! That is really awesome. Maybe she can just study and get ready to re-take the test when she gets out? That way she can begin college classes soon! Good luck!

What are the guidelines for ed credit? If credit is attached to success on the test, that is just the way it is. Otherwise, students could just come in, sit in class, do nothing and get time credit.
