Anyone wondering what the heck I am talking about?? :p
Well, this infestation is a good thing!
Inktomi & Google will be spidering the heck out of PTO (that means going through the site for content to add to their search engines) in the next couple of days, which will then boost our rank beyond number one in multiple search categories in the next month or so..
For a long time PTO has been rarely indexed by the search engines because they mostly ignore Discussion Forum based websites.. Well, I have had a programmer get around that by creating a "archive" which the search engine spiders can read properly.
What this means is that in the near future when someone types in the name of a prison that is mentioned here (or something else) into a search engine, a link will show up to PTO. = MANY more people will be able to locate PTO.
I know many of you have concerns about this, but it's my goal to reach everyone we can.
If you want to check out what the archive looks like, you can click on the small link at the bottom of every page (just under the donate button) that says "Prison Talk Archive".
It contains all of the posts here but in a way that a search engine can read them.. It is very generic looking.
So anyways, our exposure is about to go through the roof...
I want PTO to be on the first page of every darn search engine when using terms like "Prison", "Prisoner Support", etc.. etc.. Yeah, sure.. You type in "Prison Talk" and we are ranked #1.. But, how many people are going to think of "Prison Talk" when searching for a place like ours? Probably not many...
In the next week, you will probably see some very high levels of user activity.. That is what this is.. SPIDERS.. ;)
