I want to get Adam something for Christmas, they don't allow anything but money orders and stamped envelopes in. He of course gets the usual sweet card from Auntie and also a card from the girls, he like the cards from his "cousins" the best. I'm thinking about just the money order, but he won't even tell me how much stuff he needs or wants. Kevin is in the same place and he's being quiet about how much he would like for Christmas too. Any ideas???? I'm stuck for what can go through the mail and I want to send him something that he dosen't get the rest of the time from me.

I don't know, every time he calls he just gives me a laundry list of things to do for him and then we get disconnected when the times up!

How about sending books or cd's thru Amazon or Circuit City? Or some books or magazines?

This boy's likes are changing rapidly. I wanted to send some music and books, but if he shelves them, then what? It looks like money for his books is gonna be it for him this year.

No books can be sent directly in Oregon. I think most states work the same. Money on their books is good because then they can get what they need/want. I was thinking it would be kind of cool if family members could get a commissary list and order for the inmate and have it delivered. I'm sure that would be WAYYYY out in the future.

I can send stuff through Amazon I just found out today. My guy asked me to send him a couple CD's to listen to.

I know how you feel, it seems I'm always sending the same. I hate how we're so limited on what they can have.

I know how everyone feels. I was trying to send my brother a photo pendant of his 2yr old son. They told me the only thing allowed is money orders and a cross. The person who answered also said that I needed to remember where he was and the reason he was there for. I wanted to scream!!!! It wasn't like I wanted to send him a gift basket! I wanted to tell her off but figured why stress myself out more than I already am about all of this. If it helps you at all I have been able to send crossword puzzles and printouts of information(correspondence courses and whatnot) for my brother. But 25 pages is the limit, I think, but basically anything photocopied or printed out will get to him. Just nothing of contraband; of course. I've also sent him inspirational and Christmas cards. Hope this helped.

I sent him some books and a pair of gym shoes through Amazon.com. I just want to make sure he has something to let him know he's thought about.
