the visitation hours/times are supposed to change beginning the first weekend in february (03). visitation used to rotate from saturday to sunday every other month depending on where the inmate is bunked. starting in february, visitation will be either saturday or sunday (not both). same times (8:00- 3:00) unless there is are too many people (then we get asked to leave to allow more vistors in). an inmate can only receive vistors saturday or sunday, so it is important to coordinate with the other people on the inmate visitation list for your guy.
i know this is starting in aspc lewis, but i have no idea if it is going to be implemented in all the adoc's facilities. (oohh i wish i could use spell check - i forgot what a terrible speller i have become).
the co in charge of visitation also told me that they will play it by ear -- if it seems like it is not working, then they will go back to the old way.

No personal experience, but here's a suggestion. Go to "Prison Profiles" and find Teb's post re AZ links. Find Lewis and then e-mail the warden. The e-mail will be forwarded to someone in his office. I had specific questions I couldn't get answers and tried this with the complex in Tucson and it worked both times. Good luck.

thanks for the suggestion. so far, though, i have had great luck either talking to the cos at lewis or calling the main complex (alhambra).
this new visitation schedule is going to be great for me because sometimes my kids have activities on one of the days of the weekend. this way i can just plan on going the other day instead of waiting for another week. i am hoping it works out so they decided to keep it.
i have never been asked to leave (because of too many visitors) - so i feel i have been lucky. i just hope everyone doesn't decide to visit on the same day!
