My son is going to Wasco for evaluation and I have a few questions.
How long will he be there?
Can we visit him? If so, will it be in person?
Where will he go from there?
He for 4 yrs 8 months minus time served of 250 something days.
Does anyone know about 85% time served and what are the chances of him doing 1/2 time due to overcrowding?
Someone said Arnie signed the 65/35%....is this true?
I have heard very bad things happen in prisons and I am so scared for him. Can anyone help me here please.
Thanks

Don't be too worried, things do happen but not to everyone, I was really scared too when my husband went in, but all is good now. I think it also depends on what level he will be on and that goes by his points.
My husband went to Wasco for reception he was there about 3 months before they transferred him, you can visit but it is behind a glass for an hour, but first you need to get a visiting form and be sure to fill it all out very truefully. Then that will be the only time you will have to fill that out and it will follow you where ever he goes. Good luck, you're not alone, I wish your son and yourself the best of luck, and remember that is what PTO is here for to help you!

Hello. I, too, have a friend in Wasco. He also said he should be there 90+ days before being transferred. I thought they stayed close to the county there were arrested in...why and where could they be transferred? Who decides? Population? Attorney? Judge? Probation?
Thanks for everything!

11/30/04 Hi, my son is at Wasco. I called today & learned I am approved to visit, was told he is in dorm like setting with 300+ others, play cards, read, etc. all day, but as far as prisons go, this is good. 1 hour behind glass is the visit, better than nothing! the person I spoke with said 3 to 4 months before being mainlined. Will he ever get to use money from his account? And does anyone know where to pay restitution? to the facility they finally mainline to? I find it interesting that each facility has a different answer to any of my questions!
