Can you eloborate? Doing away with packages all together, no vendor packages or no packages you put together... or simply no packages at all? Either way.. I've not heard anything but will see what I can find out.

Hi All

That would require a amendment to title 15 as it is currently written. I do not recall seeing any pending changes to title 15 with regards to vendor packages. Unfortunatley www.Corr.CA.gov (http://www.Corr.CA.gov) is down today so, when it's back up I'll post a link to the most recent changes.

RPinSDRPinSD,

Thank you!!! I was trying to check here as well with no luck. I put in calls to other members of our Inmate Family Council. When I hear something I'll post as well.

Hi All

Corrections website is back up, good news! no changes for the bad to the vendor program but some improvements were made last May 04.

Here's the text of the new rules from that change in May

http://www.corr.ca.gov/RegulationsPolicies/PDF/NCDR/2004%20NCDR/04-03/Notice.pdf

Also, for future reference, all modifications to inmates rights, regulations, procedure. Come by amendments to title 15, so to track any future changes or to keep yourself in the loop, you can always go here to see what's getting changed for the good or bad.
http://www.corr.ca.gov/RegulationsPolicies/default.asp

Look at the links: Recently Adopted Changes
and Pending Reglations Changes, Also the Admin bulletins and information bulletins can offer some interesting info.

Looks like it's an Up and Down day for Corrections Website.

Maybe they are finally making that modification to the website that I've sent 100 of letters to the Governor, Senate, Assembly, Director of the YAACA asking for. A link on the page that say's "For Family and Friends of Inmates" That spells out all the polocies and regulations we need to know.

Oh wait this is California under Arnold, that's just to much simplicity to ask for.

My Husband Is In Ironwood And They Have Already Done Away With The Personal Packages That We Would Have To Put Together And Ever Since Then We Have To Order The Quarterly Packages From Access Securepak(800-546-6283).actually It Does Save You Alot Of Money Because They Weigh It Out And There Is No Way You Can Go Over 30lbs And The Shipping And Handlingis Free Which Is Great For Me Because Ilive In New York And Would Have To Pay $54 Just For Shipping And Handling From Ny To Cali. Ihope They Don't Do Away With These Packages Because Then It Will Be Very Costly To Have To Send Our Loved Ones Money For Canteen Where The Prisons Take Advantage And Hike Up The Prices On Everything!!! Their Prices Are Just Ridiculous!!!!
