Sherry states that the staff has been very nice to her. She has met quite a few other PTO members (Txgrannie,Dawn, Catherine, Linda, Lauren and Angel)

She seems as upbeat as she can be but her health is slowly going down hill. Reason being they stopped all of her MS medications. Her family is concerned and she is asking me what she can do. The physician there says he will put in a request for the meds to Washington DC but this will take a few weeks. I had written to her about Fed Cure because I knew they would not continue her injections. Is there anything we can do to help her? or what can I tell her to tell her family to do?

She also has a question about how long she will actually be there. She was sentenced to 15 months and started serving on 10/29. Can someone tell me when her out date will be?

Another question. Does anyone know anything about a law about first time offenders/non-violent with chronic meidical conditions, over 45 being released after a third of their sentence being served?

If any of you have answers or info I can send Sherry I know she will be grateful.

Thanks

Cinnamo, there is no law that will allow her to be released early due to her medical condition. There are people who are dying who cannot get a compassionate release. Unfortunately, unless something changes, she will have to serve her sentence.

I have put in a request for Kenny Linn from FedCURE to look into this situation and see what can be done about her meds. If anyone can do anything, he can.

I just talked to Kenny Linn from FedCURE, he is going to check into this and see where the situation stands as of now and if they will get her her meds.

Thanks Cinammo for updating us on Sherry. I feel horrible for not writing her yet. Will get a card to her today. Thanks, also, Cjjack for your help. I hope something can be done quickly for her.

Lauren 'is' Angel...she is my daughter, and yes I have heard from her that Sherry is having a tough time with her MS. My daughter and Sherry stay in contact with each other. It is really sad that the situation with the meds is the way it is but I am glad to hear that CJ is on it! My daughter waited 3 weeks to see someone about her own meds. Lauren says she does try to walk a bit with Sherry though. Wouldn't her release date show up on the BOP site?
