Hi, my son is in "B" yard in Ironwood. The hispanics have been on lockdown last weekend and now this weekend as well. I was wondering if anyone knew what had happened and a guess of how long they might be in lockdown. ( ie: a week, a month) Also, does the inmates receive mail when they are on lockdown?
I thought, after searching for quite awhile, that maybe if I started a thread that said Ironwood lockdowns, I might get more info. Also figured others are probably feeling just as anxious about what is happening. Take Care and God Bless!

I'm not sure how long their lockdowns are, but my fiance was on lockdown for 2-weeks (he's black). He said there was a fight between the Hispanics and the blacks. Anyways, they ended up moving him to a totally different yard, where the ratios of Hispanics to blacks are 300 to 1. Anyways, they did that so he could fight and end up getting longer time. As far as the lockdown with my fiance, I still received a letter from him, of course he couldn't call but I received 2 letters in that 2-week period.

My boyfreind is also on the B yard in Ironwood he said that there were going to be down for at least 2 weeks but who knows? I really miss him and have been wanting to visit but i can't till their are off lock down... If any body has any updated info please let me know thanks all!!!!!

I received a letter from my son. They were off of lockdown for about 40 minutes when another fight broke out so back in lockdown. Then on 11-13-04 there was another fight, so he is under the understanding that it could be more than a month.:( That's all I know so far. Thanks for the responses. Take Care and God Bless!

I Feel That They Sould Put The Race In There Own Yard So No Troule Can Happen Like This No More But Its Just A Mom Talking From Her Heart I To Miss My Son Ladies All We Can Do Is Pray For Them

Just wanted to let you know that from what I heard it was amongst their own race, that is why it is only the Hispanics that are in lockdown. They need to learn how to get along, especially since it is the holidays and so many parents want to see their loved ones. Take Care and God Bless!

Went to visit my son for 1 hour behind glass visit today.:) Wanted to update all. He said that they were told that if there are no more fights that they could possibly get off lockdown by Thanksgiving. :thumbsup: So keep calling the 800# and checking because you may be able to visit for Thanksgiving, God willing. :) Take Care and God Bless!:) There's always hope!

today is saturday the 27th of nov 2004 and ironwood b is out of lockdown my son called me today and told me they came off. thank you LORD for that amen

I went to see my fiance this past Saturday and because he was in the hole, I couldn't see him, unless I had an appointment. Which I didn't have. Anyways, if any of your love one's are in the hole, make sure you make an appointment to see them otherwise, you will be denied your visit. I hope no one experiences what I experienced this past weekend. I hate that I couldn't see him.

You can tell an inmates yard from his mailing address. A,B,C,D in front of a number. B1 means Yard B, Building 1.
