Does anyoe know if the mail restrictions are different when they are in the hole?? Or are they the same?? Or is each instatution different?? My hubby is in the hole and I don't want to send him things he can't have...like pictures, and cards, and what not...any info will be great. Thanks!!!

At Pelican Bay when he was in the hole I was allowed to still send in pictures and cards

I can send pix and cards but no books or CDs.

I'm sure the rules differ for each prison (however it shouldn't, they should all be going by the same rules). But we all know how each prison likes to "make up their own rules :angry: :angry: :angry: !!!" Anyhow, my fiance is currently in Ad/Seg "the hole" at CMC and I am allowed to send him letters, greeting cards, 5 pictures (no larger than 5x7) and money orders. I also ordered him subscriptions of different magazines & the San Jose Newspaper and he is allowed to receive those. I can also order him paperback books through Amazon.com however I can only order 2 at a time.

As for the money orders, while in Ad/Seg "the hole" he can only spend a maximum of $30 per month to order items from the canteen by completing a Canteen Ducat Form 184. Here is a list of the items that he can purchase through the canteen once a month.
