Hey ya'll..
Today is a holiday..and it is raining. :( We didn't have anything to do...so we drove to Ventress! LOL...
I have never visited my son there. He doesn't want me to. I guess if he had an extra long sentence I would complain more....but I guess I will respect his wishes! I wanted to see what the place looked like and I dropped off a money order at their (Clayton) post office so it wouldn't take so long to get there after the holiday. Man! This place is way out in the boonies! It looked pretty dismal.:(
I drove through Clio, thought I would see Easterling...but I guess it is not on the road I was on.
This is our exciting day! Prison hopping! :)
Have a great holiday!
Kay

Kay, I'm so jealous that you drove through Clio!! (And I know it took about 5 seconds to get through it.) One of my rituals is to stop at the Country Store and buy a large and I do mean large sweet tea. Us Yankees have no clue how to make sweet tea that tastes as good as what I can get there in Clio. (I admit that it might be the idea that I am drinking from the same well that supplies the prison, lol. ) Last time I even bought some tea, froze it in water bottles and brought it home. It was still slush by the time I got here, lol. And that's saying alot since it was a lonnnnnnng plane trip (delayed flights) and an overnight stay at a friend's house before my 3 hour drive home from the airport.
Easterling is east of town about a mile or so. But it's not right on the road, just a sign indicating it is there...........
I long to be there and often am in my mind and heart. It's been almost 6 months since I've been to see James. **sigh** And I won't be going until the parole hearing, whenever that might be. I was told probably January, possibly February. Either way, don't rent out that RV to anyone else!! :p
Sending hugs,
Care

We enjoyed our little ride. It took a little longer than I expected...a hour there and a hour back. I told Joey when he called this afternoon, and he said he should have looked out the window...he might have seen us! His dorm is right there by the guard tower.
Care...the Rv is on the Lemon Lot...but I doubt it is going to sell anytime soon....so we will reserve you a space! My brother-in-law is looking at a new one...my word! It cost more than my house! Besides...when James gets that parole...we'll be two feet off the ground and who needs to sleep! I'll have the red velvet cake and pitcher of sweet tea ready!

Kay, I have this vision of a bright lemon yellow RV sitting in your back yard, lol. Well let's hope for MY sake it doesn't sell but for YOUR sake, well ~~ that it sells but the new owners don't want it until after I've been there. :D
Yeah, I know what you mean about how much some of those hummers can cost. My parents (who have both since passed) had different ones through the years that were MUCH nicer than a lot of apartments I'd lived in that's for sure, lol.
Anyhow, hopefully I can be there in the next couple of months!

lol...Care...The Lemon Lot is a place at Fort Rucker where people park their vehicles that are for sale. lol....it is a dingy brown RV.
The one my brother-in-law is looking to buy is beautiful. It has a seperate bedroom in the back. It also has a full size bathroom with shower. The living area is couches and chairs with a TV and VCR-DVD player. $60,000 and it is used!
Hope you don't have to wait too much longer to hear from the parole board!
