Did anyone hear about this suicide? My penpal seemed pretty upself--a kid with only 10 months to go! My pal said, "I wish I coulda talked to him 1st."

I hadn't heard anything about that....my fiance was supposed to be transferring there soon, though. The plan may be changing, but I'd still like to know more about this.

Yes, I heard about it...my friend lived right next door to him, said that he was laughing and joking about 30 minutes before they found him...my friend is really upset, said that he was a short timer, but I have not found anything in the newspapers about it. so sad.

I got a letter a few days ago from my pal and he's still so upset. He said the guards are supposed to make rounds every hour and it was three hours before he was found.

I think it upset him so much because the young guy reminded him of his son. He's already depressed about the holidays and memories are flooding to the surface.

I'm thankful he believes in prayer and I think I'm going to let him call me. I hear there is a holiday package they can purchase from the commisary with special foods for $75 and I think I'm going to get that for him. Hope it's worthwhile.
