Hi everyone, I need help on what to write for an appeal letter. My boyfriend is doing time in Yuma for domestic violence against me and my daughter. All is forgiven and we have gotten back together. I had never sent in the forms until recently when I had spoken to a friend and she said to just see what they say. So I got the denial letter and have 10 days to appeal it. What should I say? I had even sent in a letter requesting approval when I sent the form in. Should I even bother to appeal it? He gets out in 4 months, but would love for him to meet his new daughter before that. Any advice?

Also, I got a letter from him today and it had been "opened for inspection". That's a first! I'm wondering if my step-dad has anything to do with this. He's a sergent at SMU 1.

What do you guys think??

He's probably not supposed to be writing you. Most domestic violence cases have a no contact order on them preventing any sort of communication.

I'd recommend waiting the 4 months... I haven't heard of many people who are the victims of the crime ever actually being approved...

Thanks for the advice, I am gonna wait. It'll be here before I know it.

But why start checking mail now? We've been writing for months. The whole thing is just dumb...oh well
