Does anyone know why visits are only on weekend? I have only been doing this for the past 4 1/2 months and I am totally confused as to why people can only visit on weekend! I have a huge career change in place but have been so hesitent because my new career requires me to work weekends! Not everyother weekend... EVERY WEEKEND! Seems how this causes a problem because 1 a month I go to visit my man 5 1/2 hours away. :( I know his mistake to drink and drive should not be the reason for me to stop my life but I am a very realistic person and don't know if I can handle not seeing him but maybe once every 3 months if even that! I just wish we were allowed to have weekday visits I would be all set! Is there anything in progress here to get weekday visits back? If so what can I do to help?

hmmmm...i had never thought about it....I just always excepted the fact that visits are on weekends and weekends only...just one more way for them to have control over our lives!

I dont know why it is like that in most states - though I know my friend visits her husband in NY and they can visit on the weekdays also (they also have their trailers during the week and/or weekend).

Visits here in Kansas are also on Mondays and Fridays for most facilities, and I know TNC can visit her guy on Thursdays in Idaho....

If the DOC can make it more difficult, they usually will :(

Visits in California have been only on the weekends since Feburary of this year. Lots of prisons had Friday visits and some had Thursday visits too. They took them because of the famous "BUDGET CUTS" excuse that the CDC uses to take programs from inmates and their families. Welcome to our world! :eek: :confused:

:D I spoke to the visiting sargeant at CIM yesterday and at that facility anyway they are planning on starting Friday visits again! He said they were working on it so I'm so excited I'll be able to see my Boo an extra day. I'm praying it's soon!

My man gets window visits and where he is right now are during the week. But he may soon be in a place where they are on weekends. Thankfully the place I work at is very understanding and arrange my schedule around his visits!
