As most know by now I am going to visit Chris today. This is the first time visiting at this prison and I am nervous. Here in Idaho you cant wear blue jeans because thats what the inmates wear. It seems that years ago an inmate tried to blend in with the crowd and leave when visiting was over.

Anyways I know that over at the other prison I could wear dark blue, black or any other color. At this moment I dont happen to have any prison clothes that actually fit so I decided I will use the dye I have stashed in the laundry room and dye my jeans to an appropriate color. When I first tried the black the jeans actually turned out charcol gray. So I am now trying the dark blue, but starting to panic as time is running out.

I called the prison to make sure the dark blue will work and the lady that answers the phone there is always so nice. She said that she thinks the dark blue will work, but if not they will give me scrubs to put on over my jeans.

I know that at the other prison if you didnt have appropriate clothing then you were turned away no matter who you were or where you came from. I thought it was so nice that they are willing to help make a visit happen.

I hear so many stories about how some prisons are jerks and each time I have to deal with IDOC I count my blessings and truely feel lucky

I would love to wear scrubs, they are so comfy and dont' pull at the big belly from sitting for hours!!

Have fun..... give Chris a bday hug, and enjoy your visit!!!

I'm excited for you, girl! And who cares if you have to wear scrubs....you get to BE with him, even for only a little while. That's worth just about any inconvenience, isn't it! Come on, tell me....how much you LOOOOOOOOOOVE that man!!! He he :D

I just think its so wonderful that they dont turn people away for not having the right clothes. I have seen it happen and heard of it happening to so many people. I know that lots of people carry spare clothes in their car just in case, but next to these jeans I only have my birthday suit and I dont think that will work either. Spare clothes isnt an option for me.

And I do Loooooooove his sooooooooo much that I will do anything to see him. Even if I look like a dork wearing scrubs over jeans :D

When I was at visit the other day I ended up wearing slacks that werent a problem. There was a girl there who the first officer let her through, but the Sgt. felt it was very borderline and said it was see through. The girl was already in the visiting room and you could see her panic because she just knew the visit was going to be canceled.

I dont remember what was said next, but the Sgt. really nicely said you need to put on a scrub over your shirt. She then took the girl and showed her where they were. I was so amazed by how polite the Sgt was and how willing the prison is to make sure that they do whatever they can for visits to happen.

At the same time I also took comfort in knowing that same Sgt who was very very nice is also the same Sgt who had emailed me on what I needed to do for my kids to visit. She was very nice to me and showed that she isnt going to request a lot of crap to get through the red tape.
