I couldn't wait up all night to see what happened, but I did get up at 5am, and it didn't pass. I am crying for everyone who's lives would have been affected in a positive way (including myself) if this law had passed. This is a sad day for California and the US. Prayers are with everyone.

On the Yes on 66 web site, they have admitted defeat, so it seems to be over.

But they made a statement I just posted and they are not giving up! This was the first serious shot at it, we were close and I am convinced next time we will win. Every major newspaper in the state came out in favor of it, it lost because of the disinfirmation campaign rolled out only in the last few days. We have to be ready for them next time.

I know, you guys are right. Never give up! I am just sooooooo disappointed (for personal reasons), I wanted it to pass so bad this time. But, hey, let's keep fighting and see if we can't turn this thing around someday.

If the proponents are serious, it'll come up again in an off-year election, when people will be less interested in the flat lies told by the opponents.

I agree. Its hard to think positively this morning. The obstacles to a decent society seem to be unsurmountable today.

I too am seriously down this morning. Im in Cali and i waited up till my eyes shut on me and had a dream we lost and woke up to the loss.. Im almost devistated. My ex's chances are very slim to none now of not serving some seriouse time for none violent crimes. Im praying on our lawyer now... But im so hurt when for weeks it was looking good and then bammmmm in less then 24 hours .. my heart and my ex's shattered.. Im all for being positive on seing it happen at a later date and praying still.. But right now PTO.. Im just heart broken... I've yet to speak to him this morning but he was really praying about this also, he's going to be really down. Some days are harder then others.....................

This really sucks but I am sure this will not be the last time it is on the ballot, we just have to keep praying and let God release the prisoners in his own timing
