Hi Guys,

I am going for my first visit at Ventress on Saturday... I need some info....I have no idea of any of the rules at Ventress...Could someone please help me? Is there a site that I could go to get info?

... generally apply to all the facilities, there are some differences at different places but most things are the same.

The main things are don't wear anything white, don't wear anything form-fitting or low cut, be sure to wear underwear, wear a slip if you wear a dress or skirt. Some of the things that vary some places are whether you can wear jewelry or not, open toed shoes, capri pants and whether coins or dollars should be brought in (usually up to $30 most facilities) - I don't know whether those are allowed at Ventress or not or what their money requirement is.

You can take your car keys and ID in with you (and will need your ID - driver's license, whatever - to get in) and nothing else.

One of the folks who has someone at Ventress may be able to stop in and tell you more but you can also do a search here in the Alabama forum - if you will go to the main Alabama forum page and put in "Ventress" and "visitation" it will bring up all the related threads in here that have been posted. But for the most part we have found that most of the rules are the same at all the regular ADOC facilities - the work release and honor camps tend to be a little less strict.
