ebonyroot 11-02-2004, 10:02 PM I voted YES today. From what I got from my husband a few days ago is that files have been being pulled since last week to have inmates ready to go to court on Friday (11/05). And not to rain on any happy moments, but people, there is a very likely chance that when it passes that to Gov. will take this to every court he can to keep our loved ones locked up. Never-the-less, my prayers are with everyone eles's in that 66 passes and evereyone goes to court on Friday and the days to follow and are sent home.
ebonyroot 11-02-2004, 10:04 PM Also, that of all the votes that were mailed in and electronicly done up until last week, 75% voted to pass. That's good news.

Kathy 11-02-2004, 11:42 PM http://vote2004.ss.ca.gov/Returns/prop/mapR066.htm
Have you checked the MAP!
Central California is RED for NO!
Could it be that most of the Prisons are located there?
I LOVE THAT MAP!
PRAYING!
Kathy
impoohbearsgirl 11-02-2004, 11:43 PM I noticed that. It could be, all the people that WORK at them view prisoners as job security don't they?
itzmydestiny 11-02-2004, 11:44 PM It passed !!!!!!!!!!
CSunshyn 11-02-2004, 11:45 PM 56 % yes 44%no as of 9:41
lanangregs 11-02-2004, 11:48 PM I think they should resentence all second strikers as well, my man is doing 32 months for a pair of shoes there got to be a way around that if this pass
impoohbearsgirl 11-02-2004, 11:52 PM ANYONE who was sentanced under this law for minor non violent/non serious offenses should fully be reviewed. Are you saying its third strikers ONLY? I thought it was anyone w/ prior strikes and minor offenses?
impoohbearsgirl 11-02-2004, 11:54 PM HOLY COW, Bush needs only 3 more electorial Votes.
OMG, I'm so excited, everything I voted for is HAPPENING!!!! Thats the first time in a while :lol
Okay, thought, Anyone want to join me for a hot cup of tea and a candle lighting ceremony?
lanangregs 11-02-2004, 11:56 PM I don't know I have been reading different information but someone just said it has to be decided in court so once it is passed I am going to be doing some calling, why do you have a second striker in jail too?
Kathy 11-03-2004, 12:02 AM San Bernardino County just came in! A BIG FAT RED NO! They are closing in on US! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!~
http://vote2004.ss.ca.gov/Returns/prop/mapR066.htm
impoohbearsgirl 11-03-2004, 12:02 AM Ya know what, does anyone have a map of california that shows where all the prisons are located.
Look at the bay area...the ONLY one in red is where San Quentin is....I must say, I'm kind of surprised that some of the So Cal counties are for this prop passing being they are responsible for sending away most of the strikers.
impoohbearsgirl 11-03-2004, 12:04 AM This law won't help my Pooh.....he's got a violent strike and is fighting a violent offense (self defense mind you) Anyways, it will be interesting to see what comes of it. But if this passes, I'd see what you can do. Don't assume it won't affect ANY striker!
however, the law will still double sentance and require 85% so being he's serving only what, 32 months? That's 16 doubled...probably won't help him :( But I'm not a lawyer either!
lanangregs 11-03-2004, 12:08 AM Yeah I doubt it will help he, he already is almost done with his sentence(6 more months to go) but it would be nice to have him home early but I wont hold my breath
cmj_babygirl 11-03-2004, 12:09 AM San Bernadino was one of the counties I was praying for, watching the numbers go down is really hard. But as always I am leaving it in God's hands.
impoohbearsgirl 11-03-2004, 12:16 AM 6 months is a blip! He'll be home in time for SPRING when the flowers bloom...you can truly start anew with him AND the seasons :D
impoohbearsgirl 11-03-2004, 12:22 AM UG, the margin is narrowing.
OMG, I cant' take this anymore
lanangregs 11-03-2004, 12:40 AM 6 months is a long time, well at least for me being that I need a break
~StArFiSh~ 11-03-2004, 12:42 AM My tv just said yes 54% No 46%
impoohbearsgirl 11-03-2004, 12:43 AM I know its long...I hope you didn't think I don't think it is.....its just you're down to the wire and then this will be behind you and the pic of your baby is cute :D
impoohbearsgirl 11-03-2004, 12:46 AM Fox news is reporting generously.
54/46
that state website is reporting 51.8/48.2
Also, Fox news is reporting Ohio went to Bush, but CNN isn't......I don't know if they are being over zealous in their reporting?
I like 54/46 51/48 is way too close for me
dgaraz2002 11-03-2004, 09:02 AM Well girls we may have lost the fight but we haven't lost the battle. Look how close we were. We just have to keep praying and get it back on the ballot. We will have to push harder next time. And........ There will be a next time. Don't give up. Debbie
MizzCandy 11-03-2004, 10:16 AM I think now that they know how many people wanted this passed, they need to look into it I mean if there wasnt something wrong with it then it would have been a NO vote by a Land Slide!
