I am from the north and can say that I have never tried collard greens. I have eaten chard, beet greens and wilted greens, but never collard greens.

Now your talking girl we made some today..Mmmm Good.had cornbread too.
I like fat back & neck bones in mine.Theres nothing like them. You can get them just about all year here in missouri in the stores.Do you like pigs feet and sourkrout??Another favorite of mine. All my freinds laugh at me they call me a blue eyed soul sister.Southern cooking is the best.Everytime we have a function at work they want me to cook either greens or red beans & rice.Take care and eat up girl..

Heck YEAH!!!!! Okay, I'm a northern girl, born and raised up here in the frozen tundra, but through some insane genetic mutation, I'm a white girl who cannot get enough soul food!!!!

I make collards with ham hocks, cornbread, baked macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, and louisiana hot sauce all over the whole mess. Grits n eggs are the you-know-what in the morning.

I also love biscuits and gravy, red beans n rice, jambalaya, peach cobbler, banana pudding, "ghetto" spaghetti and fried catfish (yes, together). The one food I do NOT like is Chitlins....the smell alone turns me right on off of that. *shrugs* well my grandparents and earlier on my mom's side are from tennessee, kentucky, georgia and louisiana......somehow someway I picked it up, even living up here in the land of "hot dish",lefse, potatoes with everything, and lutefisk!

..........oh, and a can of coke is a can of coke.....it's NOT "pop"!!!!!

Well I live in the south and love "soul food"----NO pops here. I love grits, catfish, green beans with fat back, hominy (yummmy) fried chicken and a favorite snack is pig skins with hot sauce poured over and yeah I make a pan of corn bread almost every day.

What a home made bisuits country ham and tomato gravy------MMMMM!! Tastey.

I love soulfood!!! Thank god for holidays at my man's momma's house :) I learned from her how to make greens with hamhocks, mac and cheese, corn bread, candied yams and lets not forget the peach cobbler!! My man about fell out the first time I made all this for him. He had to call him momma and ask her if she came over and cooked it! LOL :) Problem is, now that I can make it all, I eat way too much! :)
