OMG I am sooooooooooo happy!! My hubby just called me a little while ago!!! It was only 4 minutes and 47 seconds according to the timer on my phone, lol but it was the best almost-5 minutes that I have had in so long!!! :cry: I just started bawling when we hung up, I was just so happy! God, it was so wonderful to hear his voice! I felt so silly because there is a million things I want to say to him, but I was so nervous, we both were, that we were just in shock, we hardly knew what to say! lol It was wonderful though to hear him tell me he loves me and he misses me :love: and just ask me cute things like what am I going to do tomorrow for Halloween and how was I doing and how was everything...ahhh I wish I hadn't been so nervous :cool: I would have said a million more things, but oh well I am still so happy with those heavenly 5 minutes!! Just had to share with all my PTO friends!!!

That is great to hear :yay: I just got my first call last night too!!! I was bouncin' all around. I was kinda nervous myself, but was like; heck i only got 15 minutes here i better blurt it all out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cel, isnt it awesome. When the MCI operator came on, and said I had a reverse charge from Polunsky, I was sreaming yes, then she goes, go ahead, and I didnt realize someone checks you are the right person, and want to talk, and Im screaming Chuck I love you (and it was the damn warden......whoooops), but he was funny, and said, well I better put you through now, so you can tell him.
It was the best five minutes imaginable, he sounded shy, but I got a letter off his stating there were three guards and a sargent there, so I understood why he was shy. I just dont know when to shut up, so I was just talking and talking (poor guy), and then he goes ummmm, times up, and Im like WHAT!!!! You know, my call was Thursday morning 2am here, and I still am on cloud nine and in heaven thinking about it, just hearing them tell you they love you is the best thing, better than paper. I am so happy for you though Cel, cause I know that you really needed that call, and you are gonna keep thinking about it, trust me.

Aww thanks ladies! :) ASweetAngel99, yeah I was nervous too, don't know why, he's my hubby! LOL But it's the first call we have been able to get since he has been there, so I was so psyched. Yay for you too, girl!! :D

Glad for you Cel! Brandon just hit his first 90 days yesterday, so maybe, if I wish and pray really hard, he'll get to call home soon. I told him today at our visit, "I love you honey, but if you can't call before November 3rd, don't call, because I want you to be able to call on my birthday in February!" If he goes past November 3rd, the next time he can call will be after Feb 3rd, which is my birthday. Isn't it funny what we think about??
Anyway, congrats on your phone call...and it isn't long before you get to visit again too, huh?

Isn't it amazing that something like a phone call can make us so happy? We take so many things in life for granted but I am sure that all of us have learned to never take anything for granted! We sure love our men!

I am happy you got a phone call from your hubby!! My boyfriend isn't on D/R he's in county waiting for trial and sentencing, anyways, I feel bad that I can talk to him whenever he feels like calling and you have to just sit by the phone and hope and pray that someone is feeling nice to let your hubby use the phone. That makes me so sad and my heart hurts for you and everyone else that has to wait x amount of time for a 5 minute phone call. I don't know much if anything about rules and stuff for D/R immates so sorry if I look or sound stupid!! But I would think that if anything at all they would let him have more than 5 minutes. At least that's what I would do. But than again I guess I know what it feels like to have someone you love and care about so far away from you, and the people who work in prisson don't.

I would give up all my phone calls so you ladies with your loved ones on D/R could get a phone call or a call longer than 5 minutes.

Hang on to that cloud nine feelin girl... it's amazing. I know whenever I heard that recording my silly self literally started jumpin up and down. I couldn't contain my excitement. I'd be sayin into the phone "I love you!!!!!!!" He used to call and use the part where he'd say his name to say tell me he loved me and then he'd hang up before I could accept the call.. but then he'd call right back sayin he'd miss me... then hang up again. He'd do this playin games when he knew money was too tight to accept the collect calls. But it always just brightened my day to hear his voice....

Aww PrincessMeagan, that was so sweet!! Thanks girl. I know, it's amazing the little things that can make us so happy...but 5 minutes talking to my hubby was pure heaven. :) Actually, all of TX (except for county jails) only gets 5-minute calls, not just d/r. TX sucks with that! :rolleyes: Only one 5-minute call every 90 days (well in theory, but we have been trying to get this call for over a year! Thank God it finally came:)), but it's still so wonderful to me!

My first call should have came this Friday, but I just found out that I couldn't accept them with my present phone service. So, he will be more disappointed than I am. I think I have it straightened out so he can call next week, but I am dealing with phone companys. Pray for me. I cannot wait to hear his voice at the other end of the line.
