I took her to the vet yesterday to get her claws clipped...OH MY what an experience! They have a house cat named Thomas who weighs 28 pounds and I think that is why my Dallas got p*ssed off in the first place. You see Thomas wanted to make friends with her so he rambled over and plopped his very large self in front of her carrier to stare at her LOL. She wasn't to thrilled. It was then time for them to take her in the back to trim her claws and all I could hear through the whole vets office was her screaming, meowing and hissing very loudly!!! 5 minutes pass and they come out and tell me they could only do her back claws because she wanted to kill them, she was scratching and biting and just freaking out! So needless to say I didn't get her front claws trimmed which I need done! I told them I would bring her back in Monday and I'd hold her while they did her front claws.I plan on NOT letting her see Thomas this time and HOPEFULLY she will be calm enough to get her front claws done! Of course I may never get her back in the cat carrier after that trip!
I used to take her to a pet store that had a grooming shop and I'd just hold her,it wasn't easy but they did manage to get it done, they made her blled once though so I stopped going there,I also used to take her to a different vets office and they never had any trouble so I guess I'll take her back there to see if they can do it again if this new vets office can't come Monday!
Angry cat.......... Never a good thing to be holding....

oh my goodness, think of it from her angle, if you were trapped in a cage would you want a big fat guy staring right at you??? cant blame her! lol! that is too funny, we used to have a cat named chewy who had an attitude problem and would do that horrible meowing, kinda like howling or something....an awful sound. Anyways better luck next time!
I hear you can give dogs benadryl before taking them to the vet, it makes them drowsy and less apt tp be aggressive. benadryls not for kitties though it is dangerous for them, but there is one that is safe for them...i just cant remember which medicine it is...guess im no help at all, huh?? maybe call the vet and ask what you could give her befare taking her in. :) ;)

I'm sooooo happy they have vets that make house calls in Cincinnati. The 15 dollar charge is well worth it when I don't have to take the 2 to get their shots and be around other pets that can make the rottie want to play and the dobe drool when she thinks about which cat to bite into first. I have a bum rotater cuff and when they both get going I can't keep it all together.

That story is so funny. I have 4 cats so I know what you are talking about. My wild girl is actually very good at the vets office which surprises me but my good girl, she is a devil at the vets office. Once I took her to the vet in one of those cardboard carriers (I will never get those ever again) she freaked out so much in the car she tore a hole in one side of the carrier and her head was hanging out and I was afraid she was going to get out so I turned the side with the hole against my car seat so she started on the other side. So as I am walking into the vets office with my cats head hanging out one side of the cat carrier, people are laughing their heads off. Needless to say, my first question to them is do you sell cat carriers?
Yes, they can be psycho at times.
Actually I bought a pair of those cat nail cutters but I am afraid to use them, they will either rips me up or I am afraid I will cut to far down and they will bleed.
