Visitation on Weekends and Select Holidays
4 hours Friday 5 to 9
7 hours Saturday 8 to 3
7 hours Sunday 8 to 3
7 hours Monday (on select Holidays only) 8 to 3
(no orange, khaki, or hooded tops to be worn by visitors)
** Must be on inmate's visiting list**
Directions: The prison is located about an hour south of
San Antonio right off Interstate 37 & Hwy 281. Very easy.
In-town transportation: It is best to rent a car in San Antonio and drive down because Three Rivers is a very very small town. If you don't know anyone there in the town, and you have no car, you are in trouble because there are no taxis
and no buses there. Ah, I cant forget, the bugs and crickets are supersize!! There are only a few hotels---about 2 or three at most I believe. Reserve your room ways ahead of time. Other visiting families can pack the house. Be ready to visit very early because of long wait lines. I am waiting in the car about 6:15 in the morning!! And yes, there are a handful who are just as early.
