I just heard the governor on tv saying that he is going to put out a $1 million dollar campaign for people to vote no on Prop 66. He is misleading the voters by telling them that if this Prop 66 passes then it would let out violent murderers and rapists...which is NOT TRUE! It's sad that he has to lie to the public in hopes that this will not pass! What a leader we have! :blah:

He is not a leader he is an actor, that all they are making it sound like if prop 66 passes they are going to OPEN THE PRISON doors and just let everyone walk out. I tell you anything to mislead the people what do you expect from an actor. he is only in it for the show. a real Leader would wants to make things better and have the peoples trust.

Wow I can't believe it! I really hope that the voters are smart enough to see right through his bull! A couple weeks ago there was a poll taken and majority of the vote was for prop 66, hopefully it stays thar way! One more week to go!

Everyday that goes by Arnold is more of a disappointment... and seems to be climbing in bed with CDC. I hope the public can see the truth. First Bush, now Prop 66. Arnold is about big bucks and Corp bussiness. There is alot of money involved with keeping our loved ones in prison. Its not about what morally right or if axe murders will be let free. The bottom line is how would it effect the economy in California. Prison are big bussiness and everybody knows it. Thats why they are fighting so hard... it's about jobs. Their jobs! We have the power to stop this, the question is will people see the truth.
Why is it that CDC is investing so much money against this prop?

Where did Arnold get 1 million dollars in the last 2 weeks to push the NO vote?

It really upsets me when goverment is fighting against the will of the people and using every means they can think of to sway their votes (Right or Wrong)

Dont get relaxed because of the polls. Use your voice and vote! Your vote can make the difference!

Don't want to get into this on another thread but I just wanted to mention that Prop 66 will not effect jobs. Just my prison's population has gone up 1000 inmates in the last few months. We didn't hire any extra officers. That is just one prison out of 30+. If we lost 1000 inmates tomorrow we wouldn't lose any jobs we would just be back where we were a few months ago. Prop 66 has nothing to do with Job Security.

I disagree.. the less inmates the less hours needed to oversee them. Less merchandise sold to them and their families from inside and outside vendors. Less collect phone calls made or (MCI kickbacks to the prisons). Less money coming into county's that house prisonors through census and tax breaks, also into the community's from visitors coming to see their loved one. It's a chain reaction of things that happen when you take money out of circulation. It's not just the jobs of CDC there are other jobs involved. Plus you say the prison population is growning. Where do they plan to house all these new inmates. Four bunk high dorms??? NO.. I dont think so. Sounds like more prisons will be needed which will need more guards in the future if this trend continues. Just my opinion.....

And what are we to do with all the felons committing the crimes that judges are sentencing them to prison?

Iliked arnold till this...i actually still do like him. its too bad that he is clueless really on this issue. but the good thing is, which kind of confuses me, is he's' released more murderers than gray davis but is against prop 66? I don't understand why!

I just saw a commercial he did, and they had to pic some of the craziest photos. why are they all pretty much behind bars with a crazy look in their eyes, no photos of how they are actual people. It pissed me off because earlier i saw on the news where someone called him on the numbers that he states in the commercial. His response is that he didnt care if it was 20 thousand or 10 thousand they dont need to be freed. they dont want this to pass because that will mean the district attorney office or whoever is in charge of going through the cases will actually have to work. I want this to pass because it is unfair. as i type i am seeing the yes on prop 66 with the klaus father and I like it because its saying fix the flaws of the law. Its not for individuals that steal a slice of pizza the law wasnt put in place for them. Keep your finges crossed Yall.

Did you guys see that commercial?? Oh my GOD!! I think Arnold needs to be recalled!! We know what he said was not true. We just need to let others know not to believe the hype. the more people we inform of the truth the more votes we'll get!!

And what are we to do with all the felons committing the crimes that judges are sentencing them to prison?

If the three strike law is reducing crime where are we getting all these new felons from? How is the prison population still growing if we got all the bad guys off the streets? What is your solution to the problem besides lock them up and throw away the key? I say what we need is programs to help people not incarcarate them. Crime went up when you stopped all the after school programs and jobs for youth. We need youth sports, music and clubs that are affordable to all income families as well as a good education for every child. At least after you have served your time be able to get a decent job to support yourself. I believe there are some people that need to be locked up and then there are some that deserve a chance at a normal life.

My answer to your question is to rehabilitate when possible not to incarcerate at all cost.
