I go to the box and get a letter from Adam today. In it he describes the religion he just found, play by play calls of the Packers-Titans game, and some other things that pretty much result in jibberish to me. Just how prevalent are drugs in prison? None of the topics are in any order and it's like a sentence or two, a football play, some talk of church and then all over again. I'm wondering if he's starting to lose it or what's going on with him.

I had a similar letter once from my brother, and he was in the hole going through some things. He said he was sick of being inside and i understand that, but i think he was going through some withdrawls as well.

((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) Rott, if you ever need to talk.... You know where i live...and hang out for that matter ....

LOL...

Lisa... most of the places Brian has been except where he is now, it's easier to get drugs inside than on the street. More expensive, but easier. I've heard that's true of most places. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings - though maybe it's something else, like Frozen said - has he ever had any emotional problems before?

I don't know, he might be in the hole. He usually calls me every Sunday and hasn't for 2 weeks now. His mom is too high to give me a straight answer.

I am sorry to hear about your loved one. He is the complete opposite of me when I was in prison. I wrote more than probably half the camp put together...I mean that. I wrote because it helped me to deal with problems and it helped clear my head. It helped me get things out my head on paper so I could see what was going on. Most inmates don't write a whole lot, so there may be indeed times when you will get a very short or confusing letter from a loved one.

I am trying to think what would cause him to write that...there are a couple of options; he could be in the hole, he could be on drugs, he could be very depressed, or some combination. But you know what, I rule out drugs; something does not quite add up there about a guy high on drugs writing letters. If an inmate really, REALLY wants drugs, I suppose he could get his hands on it, but I gotta tell you, that is an INCREDIBLY difficult game to keep against the prison system. It depends on so many factors that most inmates don't bother with it. Having said that, I have seen drugs make it on camp, but that is very, very rare.

So I wonder if he is depressed about a situation or if he is in the hole. If he took the time to write, even if it is garbled, maybe it means he didn't have the opportunity to call. I cannot make a call on this unless I knew a few things, like what security level is he in, how often does he write, how long has he been in prison, and things like that. That is important to you because you know what behaviours are strange and what might be normal. But don't jump to conclusions to soon about him. If you love him, give him the benefit of the doubt. He won't get such grace from prison officials, he needs you to do that for him.

Since you mentioned a football game, that was clearly a good while ago; any updates on his situation?
