View Full Version : Are there any Bisquick cooks out there?
I use Bisquick for everything from pancakes, to biscuits, to dumplings, to gravy!!
Here are some of my favorites. Not all will be posted tonight, as well, it is after midnight and I should be getting tired soon!!
Hope you enjoy some of these, and as with all recipes, use this as baseline formulas for your own tastes!!
JJT
1 lb ground beef (hamburger)
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup, give or take)
1 package taco seasoning
1/2 cup Bisquick
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1/2 cup shredded cheese
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Spray 9 inch glass pie plate with cooking spray.
In skillet, cook ground beef (hamburger) and onion over medium-high heat.
Drain and return to skillet. Sprinkle taco seasoning mix over ground beef. Mix well. (add green chilies if you like them)
Spread in pie plate.
In medium bowl, stir together until blended:
Bisquick
milk
eggs
Pour into pie plate.
Bake 25 minutes.
Top with cheese (and chopped tomato if you wish)
Bake an additional 8 to 19 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.
Let stand 5 minutes before serving. (Right. Like that ever happens!!)
Cut into slices, top with taco sauce, sour cream, what ever your favorite seasoning!!
Taco Chicken
Ingredients:
1-1/2 cups nacho cheese tortilla chips
1/2 cup Bisquick
4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
1 egg, beaten
1 package Taco Seasoning Mix
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons vegie oil
1. Place totilla chips in to large resealable plastic food-storage bag; crush with rolling pin. Add Bisquick to chips. Mix well.
2. Between sheets of plastic wrap or waxed paper, flatten chicken breasts to 1/4-inch thickness. In shallow dish, mix egg, taco seasoning mix and salt. Dip chicken into egg mixture, then put into plastic food-storage bag, and do the 'mail dance shake' to coat with Bisquick and chip mixture.
3. In 12-inch nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cook chicken in skillet 10 - 12 minutes, turning once.
Serve with Spanish rice, warm flour tortillas or corn muffins and sliced avacados.

Mix together, until a soft dough forms:
1 cup Bisquick
1/3 cup milk
Remove lid from pot, bring soup back to boil, drop dough by spoonfuls into pot.
Cook uncovered 10 minutes. Cover and cook 10 minutes longer.
Grab a big bowl, and enjoy!!

HOPE4FUTURE 05-22-2006, 06:01 PM Here you go making me hungry again HLM. Ok, this is what I do...I cook a whole chicken and then debone it. Then I put it back in the juice and add the frozen (Reames) homemade noodles and I cook the dumplings on top of it all. Havent cooked it in awhile but my cousin used to come up and say, "I got a powerful hankering for some of your chicken and dumplings." So I know it must have been good!
LeaAnn 05-22-2006, 08:01 PM Bisquick is the best and I use it all the time.
nimuay 05-22-2006, 08:39 PM They've got flavored kinds now, and I use the honey one as a topping for stewed fruit - just throw sliced-up fruit, a little lemon juice and sugar and cornstarch in an oven-proof pan and top with the mix, cook it 'till the Bisquick is done.
