My brother is awaiting placement, and has an appointment on Wed. for DNA to be taken? Is this common? (He was sentenced for 3 attempted murders)

Hi KevinsSister

This was all I could find about DNA samples from the CDC, I didn't read the entire text of the policy but hopefully it will answer some of your questions.

Maybe SGT or Gatekeeper can come along and give you a more specific answer but I believe it is done in reception.

There is a measure on the November ballot in California that will require ANY ONE arrested for a felony to have a DNA sample taken from them. Now, they only take samples from people convicted of certain felonies. If that measure passes and lets say the charges are never filed or dropped or there was a mistaken arrest they still will have your DNA. It is prop. 69 on the November 2nd ballot! I am voting NO! I do not know if I want my DNA avaliable to be sprinkled some place that some one thinks that I was. Maybe I have been married to my consipracy theorist husband too long, but who knows!
